Welcome to IES Hillcrest
IES Hillcrest is a private language school located close to downtown San Diego in sunny California. We provide quality education for English learners (ESL) and English teachers (TESOL) from overseas and the local community. We want to create a comfortable atmosphere that allows students to overcome their anxieties about language learning. Our hope is to facilitate authentic language learning which is enforced by the experience of living in the United States.
For English learners, our Intensive English Program helps students develop the language skills they need to succeed in their university studies, careers, and social interactions. Our approach to education focuses on active learning. Students are not passive observers in lectures but active participants in discussion and problem solving. Our small classes, between six to ten students, offer plenty of interaction with experienced teachers as well as classmates from around the world.
* Continuous enrollment (no registration deadlines)
* Small class size
* Flexible course schedule
* Academic and non-academic track
* Placement test
* Computer language lab with Internet access
* Culturally diverse staff
* Monthly class field trips and parties
* Tea, coffee, and snacks
* Private lessons available upon request
With the growing demand for English skills around the world, IES Hillcrest also offer a TESOL Certification Program for those interested in teaching English overseas or in their native countries. Both international students and native English speakers can learn how to become successful teachers of English.
Various staff speak the following languages: Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish, Italian and Korean .
